The Cultural Center seeks a purpose-driven, arts-loving professional to manage our visual arts, performing arts and education programs. Well-organized and inspired by great systems, our Program Director will ensure the success of our exhibits, concerts, festivals, classes and educational outreach. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under the supervision of the executive director, the Program Director provides support and management oversight of the mission-centric programs at the nonprofit Lincoln City Cultural Center. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversee the administrative aspects of arts, culture, education and community programs, including budgeting and reporting; 
  2. Coordinate scheduling of Center’s spaces, staff and volunteers to ensure effective and safe delivery of events and programs; 
  3. Maintain communications channels (Google calendar, website, social media, posters, printed collateral) for internal and external Center users;   
  4. Serve as director in charge, during designated periods as well as emergencies; 
  5. Deliver one-time events and community programs, as needed, including planning, budgeting and execution; 
  6. Lead the work of the organization’s Cultural Advisory Committee, and coordinate the Center’s ongoing training in equity, inclusion and access. 
  7. Manage the Cultural Center’s volunteer program, providing impact and service to volunteers in programs across the organization; 
  8. Regularly evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for areas of improvement, and, 
  9. Create monthly and annual reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors. 
     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Excellent organization skills, with a special talent for solving problems and improving organizational efficiency; 
  2. A friendly demeanor with a dedication to community building and customer service; 
  3. Basic proficiency in MS Word, cloud-based scheduling systems and social media platforms, and the willingness to learn new digital skills; 
  4. Experience in leading and managing people, including entry level staff and volunteers; 
  5. Strong communication skills in English, with relative comfort in public speaking; 
  6. An affinity for visual and performing arts and a belief in the power of the arts to change lives, as well as a general knowledge of the Cultural Center and its programs; and, 
  7. The capacity to perform job duties on site at the Cultural Center, including some nights and weekends. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A bachelor’s degree (or above) in nonprofit management, arts administration or business; 
  2. Experience in arts management or an arts-related business; 
  3. Professional experience across cultures and languages; and, 
  4. High level of proficiency in cloud-based scheduling systems and database management.
