Lincoln City -- This Friday, Oct. 18, the Cultural Center's Fiber Arts Studio Gallery will open a new exhibit: "Stretch." It features the latest design challenge from a group called High Fiber Diet, a branch of the Columbia Fiber Arts Guild. You're invited to see the work, meet the artists and enjoy nibbles and wine, at the reception from 5 to 7 pm.

The show will remain in place through Dec. 29. Gallery hours are 10 am to 5 pm, Wednesday through Sunday, and by appointment.

High Fiber Diet, part of the Columbia Fiber Arts Guild (CFG), offers artists a place to gather, exchange ideas, and learn about high standards of design, color and workmanship in the fiber arts.

The group of artists that make up High Fiber Diet challenge themselves to constantly push the borders of fiber arts. This exhibit, “Stretch” is just the latest example of their dedication to expanding the boundaries or their art form as they “stretch” their imaginations. They put forth creativity to the extreme and the unexpected within a wide variety of subject matter, both representational and abstract.

The FASG is located inside the Lincoln City Cultural Center is at 540 NE Hwy. 101 inside the historic Delake School. For more information call 541-994-9994, head to lincolncity-culturalcenter.org, or connect with us on Facebook or Instagram. *****
