Lincoln City Winter Arts Festival  Nov 29-30

Mark your calendars for the third annual Lincoln City Winter Art Festival, sponsored by the Lincoln City SeaGals, set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29 and 30, at the Cultural Center.

The festival, now in its third year, will fill the halls of the center with festive food, art and music on Thanksgiving Weekend. Show hours are noon to 6 pm on Friday, Nov. 29, and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, Nov. 30. Admission and parking are free.

The public is invited to browse through 30 local and regional artists in blown and stained glass, pottery, sculptures, oil and acrylic painters, fiber arts, metal art, driftwood art, jewelry, photography and more. The Cultural Center's Chessman Gallery and the Fiber Art Studio will be open as well as artist studios located downstairs.

On Friday, the Lincoln City Cultural Center will host additional holiday activities, including the Ornament Make 'n Take station, downstairs from 3 to 5 pm, and the performance of the Sweet Adelines choir and the tree lighting countdown (with a visit from Santa) at 5 pm.

The festival music schedule will begin with The Foulweather Friends playing Friday afternoon from 1-3 pm. The Foulweather Friends is an outgrowth of the Foulweather String Band which has been a part of the central coast music community for many years. With Steve Johnson on guitar and banjo, and fiddlers Karen Johnson and Amy Barrow, the trio's compass is drawn to old timely tunes and songs, often incorporating Celtic influences and producing a rootsy comfortable listening experience.

On Saturday, shoppers can enjoy the work of “Guitar Bobby” Wentz, a local favorite, from 10am- noon. Hang around and spend the afternoon to the fun music of Lincoln City's own Richard Paris.

The fabulous Food Cafe will have Phill's Smok/n/Grill BBQ, with finger licking good BBQ and sides. Those with a sweet tooth can shop the Bakery Babes Bake Sale with the best homemade goodies made by the Lincoln City SeaGals.

The SeaGals are also hosting two raffles. The first drawing will be for a carved creation by artist James Lukinich of James L Creations LLC. The second raffle offers the chance to win donated art by the festival's talented vendors. Raffles will begin at 3pm on Saturday. You need not be present to win.
