“Before I Die” is a global public art project that inspires people to reflect on their lives and share their personal aspirations in public. Originally created by artist Candy Chang on an abandoned house in her neighborhood in New Orleans after she lost someone she loved, the project creates spaces where people can restore perspective and understand one another in new and enlightening ways.
In Lincoln City, LCCC Visual Arts Director Krista Eddy and volunteer Tony Hugeback will design and construct the “Before I Die” installation, sponsored by a special grant from the NEH and Oregon Humanities. It’s your job to fill in the lines. We’re tentatively planning an official opening on Friday, April 23. What do you want to make happen before you die? Sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities. To learn more or volunteer call Krista at 541-994-9994.
