Summer Art Camp

Two weeks to choose from!

Monday-Friday, Aug. 19-23 OR Aug. 26-30, 10-3 each day

This small-group, big-fun day camp is led by the Cultural Center’s Visual Arts Director, Krista Eddy. She keeps the kids busy with artistic activities that develop their creativity, curiosity and problem-solving skills. Mornings begin with self-guided stations of activities and crafts, followed by guided projects like printmaking, stop-motion animation, embroidery and stuffy making, plus framed work for a camp exhibit. After lunch, campers will work on a group project: developing an illustrated story about the Gary the Octopus outdoor art installation. At around 2 pm each day, they’ll take a guided walk to the nature trail at Devils Lake State Park, to gather materials for even more art-making.

The cost is $100 per camper ($85 fee plus $15 materials), with 80% scholarships available. Campers need to bring packed lunches, water bottles and rain jackets. Pre-registration is required. To sign up or learn more, contact Krista at, 541-994-9994.

* NOTE — This year, thanks to a grant from the Mark Sponenburgh Memorial Trust, we’re able to serve twice the number of youth as we did in 2023. Thank you!
