Remembering 9/11

Wednesday, September 11 2019 @ 6:00 pm

The public is welcome to this open, free event, a way to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and the special relationship Lincoln City has with 9/11 and particularly with FDNY Engine Co 55. Join North Lincoln Fire & Rescue District, The News Guard and Mo’s Restaurants, as we share the tragedy’s impact on our community and honor all the men and woman who died and acted courageously (UA93, the Pentagon and Twin Towers), along with all the police, fire, EMS and first responders who died that day, and are still dying from cancer (and respiratory illnesses). We’ll also take time to remember and honor the men and woman who died, are seriously wounded, or suffer PTSD in the longest war in American history that we are still fighting nearly 18 years later.

The program will feature Mayor Dick Anderson, State Rep. David Gomberg, NLFRD’s Jim Kusz, Peggy Preisz from Mo’s and Roger Robertson from AllWays Travel, and others. There will also be a time for members of the audience to share their experiences and memories of 9/11. There will be chowder and shrimp, provided by Mo’s Restaurant. To volunteer or learn more, call Jim Kusz, 541-996-2233 or 503-407-0801.

This is either not a ticketed event or tickets have not yet been announced.
